XABIK · Open role
Infrastructure Engineering Founder*
Design the technical judgment layer behind XABIK, assessing which strategic infrastructure opportunities are feasible, constrained, investable and worth pursuing.
- Fractional founder role · keep your current job
- Real ownership via the Junyo* model
- Founding team of a company already in development
Role summary
A senior infrastructure role across energy, grid, data centers and strategic assets.
This is not a standard engineering advisory role.
You will help XABIK understand what is technically possible, what is blocked by infrastructure constraints and what kinds of opportunities can become real investable projects.
Engagement model
Designed as a fractional founder position.
For details on structure, time commitment and conditions, refer to the FAQ.
- You do not need to leave your current job.
- You contribute part-time, focused on high-leverage technical judgment.
- You work as part of the founding team of the company.
What you'll be working on
- Evaluating large-scale infrastructure opportunities.
- Assessing feasibility across energy, grid, land, permitting and technical constraints.
- Helping define what makes an opportunity investable.
- Translating infrastructure complexity into clear decision criteria.
- Working with the AI/data Founder* to encode technical variables into prioritization logic.
- Supporting conversations with governments, developers, funds and strategic partners.
Core responsibilities
- Define the infrastructure assessment framework.
- Identify the critical technical variables that matter in project origination.
- Evaluate opportunities involving data centers, energy assets, grid systems, industrial sites or strategic infrastructure.
- Help build the logic for feasibility, risk and investability scoring.
- Challenge weak assumptions before they become project narratives.
- Bring senior technical credibility into early stakeholder conversations.
What we are NOT looking for
- Pure consultants who only produce reports.
- Engineers who cannot think commercially.
- Specialists who only understand one narrow infrastructure layer.
- People who need every variable to be perfectly defined before moving.
Required profile
- Senior engineering background in large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience with energy, grid, data centers, industrial infrastructure or strategic assets.
- Ability to evaluate feasibility, constraints, dependencies and risk.
- Comfort working in early-stage, ambiguous environments.
- Strong judgment and ability to simplify complex technical systems.
Key capabilities
Infrastructure feasibility, energy systems, grid constraints, technical due diligence, strategic judgment.
Infrastructure feasibility — understand how large infrastructure projects are planned, assessed and developed.
Energy and grid systems — ability to reason about power availability, grid constraints, energy assets and system dependencies.
Data centers and industrial infrastructure — familiarity with the physical and operational requirements of compute-heavy or industrial sites.
Technical due diligence — identify what matters, what is risky, what is missing and what needs further validation.
Strategic judgment — connect technical constraints with capital, public policy and commercial relevance.
Why this role is hard
You are not evaluating assets that already exist.
You are helping originate opportunities before they are fully formed.
The data will be incomplete. The constraints will be interdependent. The opportunity may depend on technical, regulatory and institutional alignment.
Why it matters
XABIK needs technical credibility from day one.
The company cannot originate serious infrastructure opportunities without understanding what can actually be built.
- Energy constraints.
- Grid capacity.
- Land and permitting realities.
- Technical feasibility.
- Investability.
Success looks like
- A clear framework for evaluating infrastructure opportunities.
- Strong technical criteria embedded into XABIK's origination process.
- Better early decisions about which opportunities to pursue or reject.
- Credibility in conversations with infrastructure actors and public institutions.
Ideal background
- Senior engineer in infrastructure, energy, grid, data centers or industrial projects.
- Experience in development, technical advisory, engineering management or due diligence.
- Exposure to public-private projects or regulated infrastructure is valuable.
- Comfortable working across technical, strategic and commercial conversations.
"Bring technical truth into the earliest stage of infrastructure creation."
